Could this be over length?

Maybe not as it looks like a day cab to me.

IS IT LEGAL?

That’s a good point, the sticker is wrong! Maybe you can’t buy a sticker that says ‘longline’!!

I reckon if it wasn’t lwb then you couldn’t hook a trailer on the back, which would be fine if you were Chris Eubank I suppose.

That is a lovely looking motor but wasted on pulling containers from Felixstowe, I think.

Maybe the sticker is just referring to the front half??

Now if I’ve remembered it correctly, this is legal.

  1. The Longline/Topline cab is built on a T-cab chassis and you can pull a 40’ trailer with a T-cab but a 45’ is overlength.

  2. As it’s the trailer length which is the important measurement and a skelly is normally 40’ fully stretched.
You can then put a 45’ box on the skelly because the box is the load, the contents of the box are immaterial.

Could be right there Simon But still looks over length for me :exclamation:
Bet he gets a few pulls

chorcheela:

Well this might be!!!

All that money spent on buying all that space to live in and the bloke STILL sleeps across the wheel!!!

i think its more bordem then sleeping across the wheel

Interesting article on the same subject.

That article puts the record straight just as I thought Thanks Chorch

Spotted on the A14 today. Looks nice in real life…saw it a mile off. Distinctive.

Routier,

did you take the picture of the Heritage Trailer, if so is that the Dartford crossing in the background. I am pretty sure that is just a shunter to get around the dropping trailers for extended changeovers etc…

I am pretty sure they run down from Scotland and swap over to heritage own units for the Euro Leg, at Dartford.

Still intrigued though so will have to ask one of the Heritage boys!!

over length or not,id still b quite pleased with meself in the 500geegee t cab,or the ginormous long line!stand out from the crowd…n grin to yerself!
