Cost of hitting a bridge

Don’t worry, that will glue back together aright  couple of days in the repair shop and it will be just like new, as you said tractor unit worth more,

Swampey2418:
…as you said tractor unit worth more,

That’s not what he said.

Toddy2:
…the unit is worth far less than those trailers.

I stand corrected, really must wear my glasses when its this late at night

Really lucky actually that it tore off cleanly from a repair point of view.

New double deckers with things like internal lift ands all sorts of safety gubbins can easily be £100k+. Because there’s no real 2nd hand (B&M bargains used to buy old ones but think they’ve stopped) or export market for them I’ve seen 5 year old ones go for less than £2k which is some hell of a depreciation.

Looks worse than actually is - in theory should pull back in (after cleaning off the torn bits) then re-rivet between the existing ones

I have a couple of mates that could have done that local to the depot - but they are both rammed at the moment -
1 has a workshop full of busses & the other a lot of work for Maritime.

SO it has had to go back to the hub for them to deal with, trouble is the downtime - they are short of deckers as it is,

As for cost - those things are £120k each, can’t see why,
Luckily, the wiring at the top had enough slack in it to stay connected,
and all the deck & suspension controls that are on that corner still work ok,
But it could have been a whole lot worse
They have had a couple where the rear frame has been torn off - Apparently a new frame is £10,000
