Corgi's latest model - a middle east cracker!

Carl:
its a corking model that but it wont be as detailed as a tekno and wsi are doing a 1 series aswell now.but for the money that corgi is worth buying im having one when they come out, theres a rather nice brs 110 daycab n tilt coming out aswell, only thing is wish it were out in time for gaydon show

Don’t hold your breath, Corgi are notorious for new releases being months late. I am still awaiting pre-ordered stock due in May 2010.

T.B

Had a couple of corgi bought for me from the Hauliers of Renown one a MAN with curtain sider other A 3 series Scania with Sheeted load both Gallacher Bros who I used to work for & both models quite good on detail etc. The Scania looks quite good Ash, I`m sure there was somebody up in Stanley Co Durham used to drive for Chapman used to see a moter up here quite regular.

Hope i am not been a bit of a numpty, but is there any suppliers,(not e-bay),that are still stocking Astran models,or any subbie Astran models? Been scouting about the web,but at a loss as yet. Lately i got gazzumped to a BRS Overland (Marathon) ,on e-bay. :frowning:

Would be nice if Corgi came on board with a few lines in Astran.

Hi Greyhound; You will have to be very lucky indeed to find a Tekno Astran model now. They have completely sold out but keep an eye on e bay 'cuz I’m sure someone will put one on there when they need a quick injection of cash :imp:
Corgi need Astran’s permission to do a model and I’m not sure that will happen yet because Astran will be doing “something else” themselves pretty soon…
Not sure what the BRS model was you got ger-zumped on, maybe a hand built model as I don’t think any commercial company does one. It may have been a truck model maker selling one off as the Leyland Marathon is available in 1;24th scale.

Guys,
Just to say that August 2011 , will see the launch of my “ESSEX INTERNATIONAL” Model VVW 909S > scania LB141 , with Trailor tilt.

A tekno build…

selling them through Ben Lord at = ben.lord@speedbird-promotions.co.uk

I managed to buy a Tekno Astran 111 recently on ebay, had to pay £350 to get it though but it’s worth every penny.

Not a bad looking model, however, not as accurate as the latest Tekno model. The trailer does not look right as it is not a “kangaroo” and looks too high for a tilt. The cab ladders look too thick, and the Michelin men are out of proporsion. These points aside, it is good to see that Corgi are now doing a classic series and of some “not so well known” hauliers!
It will be cheaper that the Tekno, but you get what you pay for!!!
Whoever designed the Tekno model got it spot on!!

Hello, personally I cant wait to add the Corgi 110 models to my collection…I was chuffed to get this one for Xmas

Have already pre ordered the Chapman and Ball 110 from DMB models £54.50 along with the BRS Scania , the Prestons F10 and the Stobart Tanker, that will boost my collection some what.

This was a 'CODE 3 ’ model, BRS Overland, looked quite authentic.
