Cops que jumping

AndrewG:
That was a half arsed job with wimping out at the end, should have done the job properly and stuffed him into the armco…just cant get real truck drivers anymore…

It is frustrating but you in a wagon, which means you can look down into passing (on your O/S) so stop worrying about queue jumpers, and worry about how many “luvvly ladies” may have shot by your driver window

m1cks:
I’d imagine they were trying to covertly follow a car and may have been trying to keep up with it.
They must have been on a task to do something or you would have 100% been  stopped (you may still get something in the post or a knock on the door soon)

When will drivers understand it’s not our job to police the roads? We see lots of frustrating things every day but need to let it go. Next time you could end up meeting a likeminded driver to the one in the coop road rage video. All good claiming the moral high ground from a hospital bed.

who’d thought that dibble would use and abuse blues and twos? :grimacing: not like the 70s, 80s or nineties on EOD out of girdwood park escorting ATO back to the cookhouse for scran like. PEOPLE IN POWER, ABUSE IT! :unamused:

Police cars also have telematics and so on now. Any bending or breaking of RTA 1988 will be scrutinised. The loose and fast days you described have been consigned to the past. If you consistently take the pi$$, you will be hung out to dry by the 2 year fast track ex-tesco management graduate who has now been fed into a position (s)he is wholly unsuited for.

Just love those drivers who think they own the hard shoulder as well, just to stop others from breaking the law, same as those on a carriageway thats going into one…i know, lets form a 2 abreast , so we can teach them a lesson…ha ha …lifes too short matey to pull those tactics…wish you had of been given a ticket, OH, heres another one, big queues on the motorway…traffic for miles…cars think, i know, ill go up the hard shoulder to the next junction and come off..Mr HGV is having non of it, thinks..im gonna block them, by doing the same as they are doing…IDIOTS of the highest order ( even the car drivers for blocking a hard shoulder ) but its their choice…And all of those who think: I am holier than thou are the same ones who grass others up…remember that.

Or on a blue light run in the 80s to a terrorist incident in the old armoured landys, got to a roundabout going flat out when the brakes went! straightover the roundabout sending the two council gardeners planting the flowerbeds jumping for their lives! :open_mouth:

Shame they didn’t have traffic wombles in those days.

Could have closed the road for 8 hours.

Only work in England.

Coming down the m61 this morning about 9am to join the m60. It’s rammed nose to nose. Lane one is a turn off and lane two and three join the m60. Lane one is empty and cars come flying down then cut in at the last minute. I must of seen 20 plus doing it. So here I am in my big shiney truck thinking balls to this and once I get to the cut off point look in my mirrors to see a car come flying down wanting to cut in. I then straddle the hard shoulder making the car stop. Me happy as Larry   looks in my mirrors and he’s still trying to jump in. So feather over I go to stop him. Next thing he switches on his blues n twos. I’m like sugar and let him past. He drives next to me on my near side looks at me. I’m not moving as I’m stuck in traffic and if I’m honest feeling a lump in my pants. He then drives off shanking his head.

Thing is 1. If he was going to an emergency why wasn’t his blues n twos on from the start or 2. Why does he feel he can jump in. As a cop he should set a good example. If others see cops doing it they do to. I’m all for one to bomb in a line if there is loads of room but this was nose to nose and always is. Plus he was driving down the hard shoulder and undertaking.

One rule for them one for us

So you think you’re the police now eh?

I fear this thread has not gone the way the OP had hoped…

I’ll just put in my 2p, and say the actions described by the OP, are that of someone who doesn’t think about the consequences of their actions, to them or others. If you want to play traffic cop, join the police and learn the law.

Thing is mate there was as you say 20 cars ‘cutting in’ , annoying maybe I know, but it was the job of the guy in the car you blocked off to decide if they were doing anything wrong, not yours by blocking the hard shoulder ILLEGALLY, therefore stopping Emergency services getting through (as it turned out just as you did)

You were lucky you got away with a dirty look off the copper, he obviously WAS ‘queue jumping’ for a good reason, otherwise he would have had the time to stop and nick you.
They only use unmarked cars to catch you out breaking the law… :bulb:

+1

Dipper dave, where are you?

On to page 2 now and nothing more from o.p.
He should either.

Come on, tell us we are all talking ■■■■■■■■, and he was justified.

Come on and admit he was maybe wrong.

Or even go for the growing trend on here,… delete the post, mince off into the sunset, and never be heard of again… until he changes his username.
