AFAIK there are some shift patterns, but also many drivers starts at various times… From the rota I saw in Harthill once, there are some lorries starting at almost every hour all arround the clock…
been in at alferton at midnight to collect and seen some ridgids about,i assume on trunk work at night,so id guess like most food deliveries these days its a 24/7 operation

Not only trunk work. I’ve done some shop deliveries after midnight, I also started a run at 1 o’clock with first delivery just after 3am…
