Cooler box illness

taz1972:
Buy a slow cooker make your meals over the weekend put in sealed plastic tubs and re-heat in cab I always do loads over the weekend then the wife and kids eat what’s left it’s easy and saves loads of cash like this —

I do take meals cooked at weekend (well, the wife makes them not me  ) and I microwave them in cab, but freshly cooked always tastes better I reckon.

Same here , mum does extra veg and potatoes on Sunday and I have them with meat in gravy and later in week I have gammon steak

The only thing is you get sick of eating the same stuff all the time

I once managed the best part of a week on nothing other than cold tins of ambrosia cream rice. Then I finally passed a fisn’n’chip shop that was open, it was as an ■■■■■■ experience with food as I have ever had.

Not sure if you can still buy this, but you could once get baked beans and sausages in a tin, if you were really hungry they were even nice cold, but they could be a bit of an ordeal to gullet cold for breakfast.

Yes that’s what I’m eating as well , lots of cold rice puddings ( Apple , strawberry etc ) , yogurts , thins , dairylea cheese and brown sauce , scotch eggs etc

Thanks all , I’m going to get a gas cooker type thing , Mrs has said to try it in garden first well away from the house :open_mouth: , she’s never had much confidence in me :frowning:

It might be an idea to forwarn your fellow layby inhabitants before you fire up said stove, as I fear it could go a bit Pete Tongue

PS: iirc stobbies have a no gas stove policy, but it didn’t stop the Dixon clown from firing up the stove to cook a stir fry on top of the diesel tank :unamused:

Scariest post of the year so far.

Check with you gaffer first, gas stove in the cab is instant dismissal at my place.

Electric cookers are good.

Dozy, Gas, Matches…what could possibly go wrong?

Seriously, are gas stoves outlawed ? I loved my little gas stove for heating stuff up with. Still keep it in my van now.
What about the multi fuel stoves, I have never used one but some will run on diesel, wouldn’t fancy using that in a cab though, don’t like the smell of diesel.

Ita probably not a cool box. I bet he’s been keeping his chicken thighs and yogurts in a hotpoint cardboard box, wondering where the plug is.

Wireless model maybe?

Coleman petrol stove will burn a hole in cheap aluminium frying pans. Bloody love mine.

I have an MSR dragonfly stove that’ll run on diesel etc but I wouldn’t like to try it in a truck cab as they are a little fierce

I used to while away the time making penny stoves out of aluminium drinks cans

I’m actually beginning to wonder about the similarities between Dozy and Dixon.
Dozy wouldn’t happen to be Dixon incognito?

Dozy on a night out in one of his lay bys.

No gas stoves policy, instant dismissal?

Iv never heard so much nonsense. Killjoys.

Yet another reason not to work for them

I have visions of Dozy sticking his fork in the cooker wiring to try and get it to go faster :open_mouth:
