Evening guys, just picked up a 12/24v Coolbox, it has a cigarette plug on there but I want to put a hella plug on. The only thing that bothers me is cigarette plugs have fuses in, Hellas don’t, is this something I should be bothered about or can I just cut it off and put the hella on?

my 12v coolbox pulls a lot of amps, the peltier blocks they use are really power hungry and if i leave it plugged in for an extended length of time the ciggerette lighter plug gets hot. I’ve had to change the fuse on it too, but thats probably due to it due a new one anyway.
just pick up an inline fuse holder, and wire it in when you change the plugs.

Just get an adaptor, one of these will do it:
Get a multi plug one that does hella and normal. Has a red end you remove for hella socket.
I put a fused one with a on off switch on mine
The cigarette lighter socket is fuse-protected.
