tofer:
we’ve got one that ends in DHL, which I thought appropriate.
All East Midlands airport “Red Fleet” used to have DHL as a suffix.
A local fruit and veg man is still running one of them, it only went between the hub and a warehouse on the airport perimeter road and has probably only done about 20k
Heather McCartney in a Porsche Boxter with the registration;
HA51 LEG
Price of an individual number plate in Latvia was 600 pounds, but then the goverment increased the fee to 2800 pounds, because to many people were buying them. The compny, that owns that Scania, has 60 lorryies, and all of them are fitted with individual number plates.
Why do people waste money on private registrations? As one of our drivers who’d stayed on an S reg for about 10 years (and regularly mocked for being overlooked for a new one) said “you can’t read the numberplate from the cab anyway…”
The thing I laugh at is how people spend a fortune on a private plate and they’re only driving something crap like a Rover 45 that came secondhand from Patels Car Sales…
i seen these on 2 BMW’s in london quite a few years ago, M3 0RGY on a BMW M3 and DOG 69 on a BMW 3SERIES TOURING
Saw one on a Aston Martin that said “AVE IT” thought that was quite cool
all our trucks and vans have FTL (Farsley Transport Ltd) on the plates. In the past i have seen luv 69 on a merc s class, there is a bentley near me with egg 80x on the plates and John cottons have jc07 ton (J COTTON) on a cf space cab.
But the best ive ever seen was in a mag and it was the ex motor bike and truck racer steve parrish, he had either pen1s or pen15 (not sure which) on a merc
Lycanthrope:
seen this weekF47HER - FATHER
Maybe it’s a guy who doesn’t like his wife after the birth of the child… FAT HER
My favourite is still the Porsche Boxter I saw on the M3
HA51 LEG
I would have loved it to be Heather McCartney
what about the bandag transcon HEV 1T…
If anybody would like to play around with this and make their own plate then try this
TNETUK will cost you about 1100 Quid.
I’ve just been driving a DAF XF demo truck for the week and its reg was 444DAF. Get some funny looks when you have to give the reg for gate passes etc.
I’ve spotted a couple of interesting ones in the past couple of weeks, 6EST in Greenwich on a white Range Rover. I wonder who that might be? Also DS10WHU on a bright red RR just by the Circus Tavern. I don’t know for sure who it belongs to but I could hazard a guess!
Here’s a few I’ve seen in my time:-
OBO 110X remember this appearing on that’s life when I was a kid.
131LLY back in the 80’s it was on a merc sl coupe around the worthing area.
TOO 510W also in the woryhing area on a porsche 928 owned by Tim Dutton of dodgy kit car fame.
Pen15 owned by Steve Parrish.
NM1 & MN2 owned by the guy who owned the yard we ran from. Once told me he was constantly hasled by Nigel Mansell but ran them on a couple of beat up 4x4s.
MR 11 DAF on my new truck which spends it’s time pulling an MRI scanner about the country.
Cheers
