:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: Might want to get the bearings checked on that back axle Harry…

This was the other side rear axle.

Many happy memories of the old 2800/3300/3600 Daf great motor - this is a couple of shots of some I drove.

60 ft. with a Morris Crane on from Loughborough, tipping in the docks
somewhere, forget now. That was the longest we had without rear steerers.

The first picture was waiting to tip in London Docks a 28 ton machine from
Swadlincote. My lad, 12 years old is in the driving seat, the ‘second man’. Got
full pay too. :unamused:
That was my first trip with the new motor, February 1980 I think, just after we
got back from the strike. First day back took me all morning to get up the
snowbound slope in the yard to go to Swad. and load. Daf (or Econo.) didn’t
apparently think it needed a diff. lock. :open_mouth:

Love the picts of the old DAFs ,
have a big soft spot on the 3800’s !
as square as a brick but still a class Act

Fallmonk:
