I popped into local B&M yesterday and got one of them cheapo portable gas stoves with 4 bottles of gas for £14. Not a long term option but good enough for probably a year. Used similar ones before and one thing I tend to do with them is unlock the gas canister when not using it.

I use that one, works a treat. I’m paranoid about the gas, so I take the canister out when I’m not using it.

I use one just the same as the above.
The little lever on the front locks the gas canister in place so it’s easy to just flick it up when you’ve finished with it.
Comes with a carry case so you can just chuck it in the top locker when done.

Do yourself a favor and save up and buy a microwave!!! Much cleaner and alot safer. Gas inside trucks should be banned!!!

Nothing wrong with a simple gas stove if used correctly.

As for microwave not everyone has an option of getting one correctly fitted so if botched they’d be more dangerous than any gas stove.

These are absolutely ideal for tramping. Gas is only dangerous if it’s not used / stored correctly, which isn’t rocket science.

I only expected mine to last 6 months or so but so far it’s lasted over 5 years, not bad for £10.
