it would be good if our unions could engage with the more robust continental unions to ensure standards of safety and professionalism are maintained. Why use the term “platoon” rather than “convoy”?
Probably because a convoy in truckers terms would sound Cowboyish whereas a Platoon sounds more military and professionally organised
The technology is on its way that
s for sure. How we can live and work with it is not yet a done deal. A big subject with far reaching consequences that will become bigger as time goes on.
Read about the aircraft cockpit of the future: it is all glass screens, with touch controls, and is crewed by one pilot and a dog. What`s the dog for? To bite the pilot if they try to touch anything.

A platoon sounds more respectable , ‘‘Mecy sakes alive, Looks like we got us a Platoon’’…
Yeh much more respectable to the point where the Bears would not need to be as thick as bugs on the bumper, and no call to Crash the gate doing 98.
Also if there was a livestock vehicle in the platoon behind a suicide jockey, when they laid a strip to the Jersey Shore, it would not Clog up the driver’s sinuses, ie…no driver.
You’re welcome.
Dads Army were a Platoon
