Was sitting behind a convoy SAFETY car yesterday but had to have a laugh at it ,
There we are doing 10mph one hand has a cig and the other had a phone in !!

Yes: Holding the stop/go boards.
I can see the need for these in some places, but many go overboard. You see the speed limit through the works as 30mph, yet the guy who’s only driving the van (‘cos they don’t trust him on the digger/dumpers) decides to do 10mph, as the op said, usually lighting a ■■■, talking on his handheld phone and sticking the pages of "Readers’ wives" together.

But some of the highways guys are on like 30-35k a year! holding the stop/go boards!!
I was once back squadded from a tipper to the stop/go boards,had some fun when an ambulance had to get through our road works.
