Yes, I can recall them doing that! In the rain I used to give them a little more room when I overtook, but usually they were overtaking me. Not once did I envy them :open_mouth:

Used to see them coming from Glasgow per motorway days must have had some sort of exemption

The helmets were 1 trippers . at the destination they were destroyed

Ah yes the good old days,see I’ve become so conditioned to modern life I find myself automatically thinking anything you want to do has to be covered by a special law, course, or licence. :laughing:

This takes me back - used to see them on the M6 with a greatcoat on and old fashioned motorcycle goggles and gloves with a bit of hardboard in front of their knees, no seatbelt, just perched on a makeshift seat. Didn’t see headgear, though.

This would be in the seventies.
