Control Book

I recently left trucks and am doing hotshot European work in a Sprinter. I understand that when going to Germany I need to fill in a Control Book ( a type of logbook) detailing mileage/time spent in Germany.
Does anyone know where I can get such book? I tried the services in Germany but to no avail.
Thanks.

I’ve no doubt Pete will be along any minute now to fill you in in his usual detailed and concise manner.

I have heard of these and am pretty sure I have seen them in truckstops in Germany. It’s like the old logs books, or so I’m told as they were of course way before my time.

yes you can get them at most SVG AUTO-HOFS
or at the very large auto.hofs, also try talking to VOSA
or by the KOGAN website as they should have them as well
AND yes they will fine you and possibibly make you take a rest
if you are found not adhereing to the EU RULES.

AS COFFHOLIC said they are like the old log books we used to use

Thanks for that brit pete

In Germany the follwing rules are for vans

up to 2800kg gross laden (with or without trailer) no proof needed

2800kg to 3500kg normel tacho regs, recorded daily in a log book

over 3500kg must have tacho fitted

Geoff

just fit a tacho less hassle

Couldn’t do job if tacho was fitted

dont forget 10 hrs driving 11 duty 6 days a week

the dutch don’t enforce any rules - not on their own drivers/firms anyway :imp:

pleased me the other night, waiting for police ■■■■■■ at membury (to go into centre of swindon) when a bike pulled in, went over presuming he was said ■■■■■■ but no, they had the J.15 checkpoint open and were pulling only foreigners, at 01:00 on a monday morning - excellent work
