Simple question like the man said out of CURIOSITY,and your the one that gives a response like you have, why not give a sensible answer ?:?:?
Seen a programme on the telly a couple of weeks ago called āHow itās madeā and they were in a container building factory and they are in fact built like that for structural strength.

Yes because we are drivers and not structural engineers hence CURIOSITY rather than essential information
Aww now youāve gone and done it they will be a mandatory CPC course for that now guess iāll have to buy one of them fancy calculators
But yeah as above there built like that so make them stronger and take weight of how many been stacked etc and since there meant to be intermodal it means there rigid enough to travel road, rail, ship
and able to take been dropped or harsh conditions
If I remember correct there built with a different steel as well to make them stronger ācorten Steelā
Towman:
Strength!think about when they are stacked, the one on the bottom has some mega weight on it
hold a piece of paper on its side and push down on it, then fold ribs in it and try it!
When stacked the only contact they have with the above of below container thru the corner casting. as to why they have corigated sides I donāt know either

In stacking, yes. It isnāt the only punishment they endure though. Scrap metal & waste paper exports can be quite brutal. Iād agree itās probably for strength but I donāt know for sure, go on PPH, take my license away.
I spent 6 years welding containers up and the main reason for corrugated sides is strength but also aesthetics. When welding with flat sides the heat would cause the metal to bend and didnāt look good. Also the containers we made had to withstand 600 tonnes top weight which flat sides could not cope with for long they wound buckle after a couple of years use then the paint and rust proof would crack and would look rubbish. Hope this helps.

And your point is, other than demonstrating your remarkable skill with explanation marks.
I thought they were question marks
And so they are. But what did you see in the posters question that questioned his ability to drive?
I think he could be a good driver,as long as he stays behind me

That is not a problem. I donāt want to be anywhere near someone who thinks they know it all. Arrogance and overconfidence cause crashes.
Although answering questions is seemingly beyond them
PPH is quite right, if you put a skin on a container it adds weight, container companies will not be bothered by airflow, itās just a box to them, where as a fridge has to have a uniform thickness to maintain the same temp, itās not rocket science is it.
