Container lorry crushes a car flat!

Amazingly, a couple survived this !

Wow! They must have been small people!

Lucky is an understatement.

The Chinese are a bit smaller than us European types. This kind of accident I dare say, would not be as survivable to any of us unfortunate enough to have it happen to them.

Check out the story of Eric “Winkle” Brown (WWII Test Pilot) and hear a similar story with regards to the death of Geoffrey de Havilland, Jr.

Brown’s short stature allowed him to later survive the same airbourne incident that had killed the millionaire patron beforehand in the same type of aircraft.

Time to buy a lottery ticket I think

Is that a hand in the first picture by where the wing mirror is supposed to be?
There doesnt look like much cutting has been done

Yes.

Thats amazing, and so lucky to get away without serious injury.

Whoever wrote that article doesn’t even appear to have looked at the pictures.

The container had fallen off the back of a lorry

causing the container to topple off the back of the lorry

The trailer can clearly been seen still attached in the second picture…

Looks like a 40ft high cube, can’t tell if it’s loaded or not, not sure if 4t would flatten a car quite like that?

There was one some years ago on the roundabout above the M25/A2 split.
IIRC it was a loaded fridge turned over on top of a car and squashed it down like this one.
The emergency services didn’t know there was a car underneath till they started to lift the truck back up.
They cut the roof off and matey in the car just got out unaided, a couple of scratches and bruises.
The fireman’s video is/was on youtube.

Yep that’s a K Line box, you just see a little bit of the F next to the U before the numbers start, Kline prefix is either KKTU for a 20’ or KKFU for a 40’, and on the roof you can see the 9’6" label denoting as a High Cube box. Probably loaded, as you can see the top off a bolt seal at the bottom off the right hand door  . Nerdy I know but there you have it.

That the motorists got out is just a freak :open_mouth: must be the luckiest people walking today

as someone who suffers from severe claustrophobia that pic is making my skin crawl!

There was something similar on one of those road accident programmes, only it was in the USA. Container on it’s side, and when lifted Mrs lucky [zb] hops up like nothing had happened.

I take my hat off to you Eddie and would like to nominate this post for anorak of the year.
I’ve just learnt something about containers though.

That’ll teach 'em to overtake a truck

Lottery tickets, now.

I reckon they’ve used all their luck quota, and then some. Bloody amazing.
