I’d check the following :-

All packaging has been removed from inside the printer.
Any protective tabs have been removed from the toner or ink cartridges
and they are correctly installed.
Paper has been correctly loaded.
Does the error show when plugged into the mains only?

Can the printer do a self test when it’s not connected to the PC.
There should be a way of doing this, but not knowing make and model
I can’t confirm that.

hiya rdbob, basicaly here are your rights,
if it’s faulty, you can get a total refund. end of.

lots of times i have taken things back that dont work. even from argos.

me, i would like a total refund onthis tv please.
argos, whats wrong with it.
me, i dont work
argos, do you have the reciept, yep i do
argos, it must be returned to manufacturer.
me, not my problem what you do with it, i want my money ( cash ) back
argos, sorry we cant.
me, oh sorry but you must, cos i made a contract with you ( argos ) not samsung,
argos, what do you mean.
me, i gave cash to you not samsung so it is you that sorts it out with the manufacturer, not me

and for all the people that thinks that you must have the original reciept, you dont. but it does help you if you have it.

i bought a washer from comet some 6 years ago. after 14 months ( 1 wash per week ) i got my money back
and do not ever get extended warranty on your new purchase. it aint worth the paper it’s written on.

If you buy stuff from Argos for instance, I’ve never known them to replace or refund any products that have been taken out of the packaging…

Argos have a 30 day money back guarantee:-

argos.co.uk/static/StaticDis … efunds.htm

Fair enough…last time I took something back, they said that as it had been opened and used I’d have to contact the manufacturer…but this was about 8 years ago.

All checked - as soon as it says connect to mains we did so and immeadiatley got error P2 which means ‘contact service centre’

Make sure you get a cash refund. They will probably offer a repair or replacement and in both cases you will then have less chance of getting your cash back if they don’t come up to scratch.

Just a thought: he can only get cash back if he paid in cash, otherwise the amount paid for it would be credited to his debit or credit card.

Yes that’s right, didn’t think it needed saying but probably worth a mention!

Going by the error code P2, sounds like you have a Canon printer. As the message
comes up when plugged into the mains only my guess is that the printer cannot
detect the ink cart holder.

Take it back and get a refund.

Well done! You are spot on!

All sorted, got a full refund and went to Argos and bought an HP one in the sale :grimacing:

Now is a great time for returning things, many companies have no quibble return policies in place, buy something before Xmas, give it as present, on boxing day when the sales start, take it back for full refund then buy it back at sale price, go to local pub and spend the winnings :grimacing:
Done it loads of times and never had a problem  :grimacing:

contact to company… on its toll free number. So u will get the reply…
