Confusion over digi tachograph

Strange that the card was ejected on the driving mode, I did’nt think it was possible to do that.

tachograph:
To know if you have any infringements we need to know how roughly how long the driving period that started at 14:32 was, can you remember what time you finished .

I finished at half three (14.32) . According to my timesheet.

Is that print out a typical average day for you?

What happens is that on type 1 digital tachographs driving time is calculated to the next minute, so if you stop the vehicle and do a printout before the tachograph has finished recording the current driving period it will be left off the printout.

It’s not really that the card is ejected while in driving mode it’s just that the tachograph hasn’t had time to finish the record for the last driving period when the printout is done.

In that case you’re fine and have nothing to worry about.

Phew!
After all that panic you have all put my mind to rest, that is fantastic.
Appreciate all your comments and I will put tomorrows printout on screen , just to confirm im doing it right. Once again… thankyou.

You could do that shift on the printout every day for 5 days one week and 6 days the next week for a whole year and be legal for all the regs

Extend the driving hours to 8 per shift and the total shift time to 12 hours and the above would still be true
