Way im reading this no veichel over 16.5t
midnight to 7am or from 9pm to midnight mon to Fri…?
Or in simpler terms no veichles over 16.5t from 9pm to 7 am.
Why can’t they just say that instead of what there putting.
By time you read the sign understood what it’s saying you get a ticket in the post for.stopping.on a red route
That looks like one of the very early London night time Lorry Ban scheme signs predating both the increase in the 2 axle vehicle weight limit to 17t and then 18 tonnes, which the local councils have chosen not to replace presumably for kerching purposes. There is one by Forest Hill Station on the South Circular.

See them all over London. Juat bugs me why they can’t just put 9pm to 7 am.
Road signs should.be simple .
Same as signs for Trafford centre etc follow brown picture sign
Why not just put Trafford centre on sign we don’t need a stupid picture
Years ago I used to do a delivery to Sainsburys at Hackbridge, it was ok getting in there but a circuitous route getting out because of the restriction.
The reason they can’t “just put 9pm to 7am” is that the restrictions are different on Saturdays, and different again on Sundays, because residents tend to spend their weekends at home…
Its a council sign created by a committee with nothing more worthy to do. Or an idiot on the council whos got so little use they have to spend hours creating confusing signs just to justify their jobs.

It was only the stretch up coulsden hill that was limited, Under the railway brg turn left up there a few of ours got a telling off in the day.

Ignore the 16.5 tonne limit, the LLCS scheme applies to vehicles over 18 tonne. We’ve been told that councils can’t afford to replace all the signs with 18t but suspect they are leaving some at 16.5 to deter all lorries from using those roads.
