Confused about cpc

Hi im new here so my apologies if this question as already been asked.

I passed my Class 2 in march 2011, and im looking to get a job driving professionally, could you please tell me do i need to complete my 35 hours cpc before i can start driving.
I have had a full uk licence since april 1996 and automatically received the C1 cat on it, does this mean i have upto 2014 to complete the 35 hours?

Yes it does mean that you have until Sept 2014 to complete your 35 hrs
