Just scanning some job ad’s, and saw advert for class 2 drivers with ‘confined space training’. Just out of curiosity, what does this mean, and what kind of work would this involve?
Might be something to do with drainage works. There’s a company in Glasgow that run class 2 jet vacs and ive also noticed they have a confined space entry training vehicle too.
As above the confined space training is not driving related,so it suggests the job is driving and labour work…you’ll drive to somewhere and use your confined space training to do whatever work is needing done…within a confined space maybe sewers ect.
Bit like Dyno rod.
Tanker work Driving and cleaning tanks wearing respirators/BA…
Maybe some ones still operating Guy big J’s
I`m sure the answers are as above, including BA /tanks/ tunnels /pits/ deep excavation etc,
.
but have you ever tried sleeping on the parcel shelf of a Bedford TK ?
it aint pretty and it aint funny
The above link should give you an insight into the requirements of Confined Space Working.
As a couple of previous posters have said, drive to where ever and then spend hours digging out blocked drains, sewers etc.
You also would benefit from a CSCS card with a street works certificate
gov.uk/government/uploads/s … s-code.pdf
None of it is rocket science but you will need all the relevant certificates in order to get a job.
