Just had a job from my agency for a driver class 2 with experience of straps to deliver concrete pallets which is a delicate load .
anyone heard of this before ? I have strapped plenty of loads in the past but never heard of delicate concrete pallets .
Sounds like precast architectural lintels & cills ect .
Dan you were bang on ,they were ornate sills and plinths cast in sandstone which had to be kept clean when strapping and carefully strapped so not to put too much presure in the middle of spans or on the delicate casting.
job done with no probs and I’ve been back for more .
I used to do meadow stone from Alfreton ,I got told off for strapping it ,they preferred a net to be used ,around15 yrs ago now .

Yep always used a net or an old cut down tarp, but we would rope it pulling the tarp down tight.
i used to do a few loads of similar stuff out of the forticrete plant up near entovens at darley dale . had to be craned off by clamping the pallets , and the pallets were cheap rubbish . usually managed to get a forkie to lift them off to save damage . dave
