maybe toby and batista could start working together as a double team, imagine the diaries :open_mouth:

i spoke to the two drivers at the Colston Hall, they had a wagon each, and will do the euro side as well.
Toby Carvery,aged 16.

Brum - Ipswich, 9 off on the freighter. Ostende - Zurich on one card.

In two days :open_mouth:

The show finishes at 22.15 prompt, how long would it take to load up two trailers.

Cold Up North:
Tell Mike that one of the Mechanics will have to put a shift in.

Too many variables but I’d say midnightish depending on how many crew are there

Are the drivers responsible to remember where all the kit goes in the trailer,do they photo the lay out,so they know what goes where, are they obliged to help load and unload it.?

That’s three days then   dependent on what time the ferry went!

What does the word rider or ryder stand for,the request for the artist.

That’s the list of stuff the artist wants or they won’t play and the toys will be coming out the pram. Stuff such as specific types of water, alcohol, fruit, food and so on.

Yep. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Toby,

Everthing is loaded in a specific order relative to what is needed 1st at the other end, and of course what size the trusses are, etc. Think of tetris in 3D, with very heavy things, that are very valuable, that need to be loaded in a hurry…

Usually one guy will direct the loading/unloading of his own trailer, so he should know how it fits after a show or two.

ive double manned on lenny kravits ,Riga—Prague and Neil Young Cologne— Dublin both Redburn jobs all be it for a subbie on there but the redburn trucks were double manned too

How can a show fill two artics,by looking at the stage,i thought that most of what i saw would stay behind,as it belongs to the venue,by working out the volume, what does get loaded in the truck from a concert?

Basically, the stage and any seating are the only things that belong to the venue. Everything else belongs
to either the band or suppliers of equipment, and goes in the trucks.

The Smarties/M&M’s thing is thrown into Riders to see how much you’re paying attention to the Rider. You can get away with quite a lot if it’s negotiated, or if you’re clever - i.e. make sure they have their brown M&M’s!
Also the amount of stuff that stays at a venue is normally very very little. You roll in with all your gear (or in the case of the Colston Hall, leave half of it in the carpark - I ■■■■ you not, there was a tribute band playing there the other week and one of my mates was a rigger on the tour, and they had two fly-by-nite artics parked up, one in the carpark and one behind the venue, and they were both full of cases, and there were a load of full cases in the carpark. Basically nowhere near enough room for their full stage loadout, and they had to strip it all back to the bare minimum to fit it in! IIRC they had 4 artics worth of gear on the tour.

The Roadie Creed
If it’s wet - Drink it!
If it’s dry - Smoke it!
If it moves - ■■■■ it!
Anything else - Load it on the truck!
