Compulsory masks

50 years ago everyone would have worn a mask and just obeyed the restrictions for everyones sake without whining - nowadays after decades of tory rule nobody has any other thought for anyone but themselves. “I want a pint so everyone else can go to hell…but I still expect hospital treatment when my moronic ideas put me in intensive care”.

Imagine them in the blitz - “Turn my lights off? Sit in the dark? Do you really think a bomber is going to see my lights? From 20,000 feet? Its all a hoax. Put your lights on like a christmas tree and dont be afraid. Ive bought floodlights for the garden and Im leaving them on all night. They dont scare me. .”

That is one way of looking at it, but society has changed a lot in those 50 years, in many ways, … good and bad.
People tend to question stuff more nowadays through different sources of news, but mainly through social media.
Many still accept the official line on everything, but those who are a bit less naive and switched on realise there is something not quite right in what we are being told, so they look for the true agenda, or at least a hidden one running alongside a true one.

In the seeking of the truth you get many varying theories from the outlandish to the possibly plausible, with different people having different opinions and views.
I personally believe the condition of Covid to be genuine, but I also believe the governing bodies of the world are also using it as a vehicle for some kind of social experiment to see just how far they can go, with people to see just how far they will bend over by giving up the freedoms that were once taken for granted, starting with wearing these ridiculous masks with little to no effect other than making you look a bit gullible, to interfering with your out of work free time that ithey know is held dear to working people and by Christ are they sucking the juice out of it.
I know that sounds a bit implausible, but just look around, do we have bodies on the streets, are hospitals at breaking point, is it done kind of armageddon scenario out there, or are MOST people who are getting it, and with no real health issues just suffering for a week and moving on, with the odd few getting adverse reactions to it.

Many of us have been on this forum for more than 10 years, if I had came on here then as some kind of Trucknet based ten bob Nostradamus, and said…
‘You know what, enjoy your freedoms of going out, going on holiday, spending festivities with your families , meeting friends that you all take for granted, cos in 10 years time there will be laws passed stopping us doing all of this’
You would have said I was off my [zb] head.

As for your blitz analogy…hmm a bit different, the threat (and the evidence thereof) was unarguable, nobody could deny the severity of the danger, where as now the actual severity is questionable deoending on what or how much you believe what you are being told.

Ridiculous masks…social experiment etc etc.

I’m intrigued how you think the social control aspect is panning out in the UK Rob.

Mostly Im with you on this Mr Monkey, but am still trying to see exactly where RR is coming from? His brain and his heart/feelings are in conflict arent they?
He knows that the Covid thing is real, but doesnt seem to be able to accept that? His heart is still refusing to accept that all the evidence is pointing one way, and is still looking for ■■? not to *believe* in what is really happening? . We all spent all our lives in a world (here in the west anyway) where death from disease wasnt an everyday reality.
Not it has become one. The figures are (or should be) unbelievable.
Except of course they are real, and hard as it is, they should be believed…I really wish it was otherwise, as do we all, Im sure. . It is something that most of us didnt mentally prepare for. It is a shock for all of us.
The first lockdowns seemed really weird.
I was still in a half dream for ages, then driving around Paris at 09hr00 on a Monday morning (think Hanger Lane, Western Av) on the limiter…
.
Look RobRoy, if it really is a conspiracy to control us all? Who is winning it? Who gains?
The whole world economy has suffered, Left/Right/Black/White/Up/Down are all saying the same thing.
Accepting this is a BIG problem is hard, yes.
Thinking it is such a huge conspiracy is surely even harder!

Correct, the whole world economy has suffered. And all just to protect mainly the old, weak and vulnerable. And the world leaders, including China that is notorious for killing its citizens, all signed up to ■■■■■■■ the economies to fight this supposed pandemic. And that really sounds plausible to you does it■■? Anything else to you is nonsense because they’ve got some trumped up figures to make it seem like it’s for the good of the people. How about the fact that 2019 was the biggest year globally of civil unrest, with 2020 promising to be even bigger. It was very lucky for the world leaders that covid came when it did because it gave them the powers to lockdown whole countries, the Hong Kong unrest was solved overnight, and China was the first to lockdown. That was convenient, nearly as convenient as all the now needed ppe coming from China. Controlling the population is a lot more plausible to me that controlling the virus

Use your powers of observation and do that ‘‘Gathering of evidence’’ you are always going on about.

People walking round with masks on,.the same people who used to laugh at and take the ■■■■ out of Eastern Oriental tourists doing the same thing before all this.
Michael Jackson was considered a fruit cake (rightly so) for doing the same.

People ■■■■ scared to socialise because they believe the hype…even though they thought they had taken steps to prevent this by having a vaccination,.then been told it does not stop you getting it.

People readily accepting Covid passports which are essentially Gestapo style '‘papers’ or I.d. cards,.which they would never have accepted 5 years or so ago.

3 examples of which they are many more, of how people have just resided to put up with all this crap,.where as in other times they would have kicked off.
Experiment going quite well I teckon tbh.

1940s Britain is in no way comparable to 2021 Britain. If you need clarification on that, maybe you’re a bit dim.

From what I’ve seen from you, you’ve whinged about the ‘Tories’ on most of your posts, but soon as bojo says ‘get boostered now’ you’re first in the line. Jesus.

JeffA:
Good points rob - I would quibble with the blitz being more severe tho - only 43,000 died in that - covids killed a lot more. David Icke would probably have said “43,000 out of how many? And you want me to sit in the dark like a bear in a cave? You sit in the dark if you like, Im throwing a disco in the garden! Everyone welcome. " you can dance, having the time of your life! Digging the dancing queen”.

Getting my booster this morning anyway so I will probably post later with a blood clot on the boil shortly before keeling over with a heart attack…

Yep I wrestled with my conscience but decided to go for it, I may be one of those few who would have an adverse effect to it, who knows.

So on Friday night when the lights are low,.I’ll be looking out for a place to go.
Not bothered about where they play the right music, but I will be socialising after earning it after working all ■■■■ year,.so if any restrictions come up in the meantime,.Boris and co can shove them up their collective arses.

The ones doing all the gobbling off about Govt depots ignoring their own rules… I.get it, but you should have done the same if it bothered you that much instead of being taken in and having a miserable Christmas holiday last year.
I did along with many others,.and I m still surviving after it, despite the dire warnings of doom and pestilence.

It is also true that 2018 was worse that 2017, and that was worse than 2016, and that was worse than 2015, etc etc…
so it means the trend is unaltered…for 9 years running in fact. 2019 was bad, true, but irrelevant.

I didn`t see those things with my own eyes. What about you?

but the figures and the stats are being massaged and manipulated to maintain the scaremongering.

OK.
So, who is doing this, and why?

You don`t know?

I struggle to see a motive for it.

You know of no reason why the worlds Govs would all conspire together in this way? Neither do I.
OK, so why not accept they aren`t being manipulated?

A world pandemic is unlikely, but, it is more likely, than China/Trump&Biden/France/Johnson&Starmer/Aus/Japan/Russia all agreeing in the same massive hoax isnt it? Youve got a brain. Why not believe it?

As I remember France was having a lot of trouble off the yellow vest protestors pre-covid. Now you like your facts so remind me when they ended first time around? The populations have been subdued to a greater extent than they would of been if it wasn’t for covid. 2020 extinction rebellion were planning a summer of disobedience in England alone it would of caused chaos. True people still protest now but it’s nothing like the unrest that there would of been without covid

Are the Chinese really bothered about image? Do they care what we find palatable?
How does that look with their treatment of the Uyghur? Are they bothered?
.
Populations are divided and scared?
Apart from the global conspiracy groups linking up over the www and YouTube as USA vaccine deniers influence us here in the UK, and Europe.
.
Some of us are dealing rationally with a real world situation.
Some of you are scared of some imaginary global plot!

As I remember France was having a lot of trouble off the yellow vest protestors pre-covid. Now you like your facts so remind me when they ended first time around? I here they started up again, France must surely be due another lockdown though, what with the rapid spread of this new Omicron variant with its none deadly cold like symptoms

Yes, now you point it out it becomes so clear,
Trump and China joined in a plot to thwart Macron.

How does ending the protests thwart Marcon? The protests weren’t just in France they were La Paz, Prague, Port-au-Prince, Beirut, Bogota, Berlin, Catalonia, Cairo, Hong Kong, Harare, Santiago, Sydney, Seoul, Quito, Jakarta, Tehran, Algiers, Baghdad, Budapest, London, New Delhi, Manila, and even Moscow. This world is ruled by a very small number of people and enforced by not many really in comparison to how many people there are. Anarchy is a very real threat and it really wouldn’t take much for it to happen. If they could see the threat of the minions getting out of control as a serious one do you really think they wouldn’t take action to stop it? Can you honestly not see a few of the world leaders sitting around a table discussing stopping potential global unrest under the guise of its for the greater good? Leak a virus from a laboratory that’s not too deadly, only really effects the old and Ill. Lock the world up under the guise of its for their own good while we figure out how to get them under control again, give the police new powers, make new protest laws. All sounds like a good plan to me. It would only take a few leaders to start the process, the rest would have to follow suit under pressure from their now terrified citizens because of a supposed killer virus. The vaccine magically came at lightning speed, it’s effectiveness changing daily but still enough for the minions to roll up their sleeves and gladly take it. Still walking around terrified of catching the killer virus though off the unmasked person next to them. The governments do not care enough about their people to take the measures they took for covid alone. A scared population is very easy to control

And you didn’t answer the question, when did the first yellow vest protests end?

I had my booster but they put it in my leg by mistake - and now my pfizar killing me…

Franglais:

robroy:
as I said it is MY theory from what I see with my own eyes.,

Ive never been to Australia, but I am content to believe it exists. I wasnt on the moon waiting when Neil Armstrong arrived.
I didn`t see those things with my own eyes. What about you?

robroy:
but the figures and the stats are being massaged and manipulated to maintain the scaremongering.

OK.
So, who is doing this, and why?

You don`t know?

robroy:
I struggle to see a motive for it.

You know of no reason why the worlds Govs would all conspire together in this way? Neither do I.
OK, so why not accept they aren`t being manipulated?

A world pandemic is unlikely, but, it is more likely, than China/Trump&Biden/France/Johnson&Starmer/Aus/Japan/Russia all agreeing in the same massive hoax isnt it? Youve got a brain. Why not believe it?

Franglais areyou trying to live up to your image or what mate?
Cos if you consciously are then you’ve surpassed yourself.
Australia and the moon eh?..
Aye right, because that is exactly the same as what we are on about innit. . :unamused:

It does not matter a ■■■■ what me or anybody else says about this, you are just going to carry on with your continuous blinkered bizzare fascination with it all in your own Covud world of pleasure. :unamused:
Unlike yourself who sees it as the most exciting phenomena since the wheel was invented, the rest of us (or most of us) just see it as a complete pain in the ■■■■,.and want to just get on with it rather than take over our lives.

So no I do not have any answers as to why imo there has been a unique photo opportunity taken to undergo some kind of experiment, whilst this (genuine) condition of Covid is going on…and I did NOT say it was all a hoax, you are arguing this on so many fronts you are getting people mixed up. :unamused:

Let’s just agree to disagree, you keep on with your fascination,.and I’ll just try and carry on as normal.
I may come back in another 10 pages of which you will no doubt achieve on this, but just to try and bring you a bit down to earth if you get TOO high on it.

Gotta love this theory that the world was tearing established govts apart - so Covid was introduced to control us.

Have to say these radicals are terrifying! They are so dangerous that that control can be reestablished - not by death camps and people being disappeared by secret police - by demands to wear a mask SOMETIMES and the threat of a small fine.

This govt is utterly terrifying and implacable in its desire to best a foe that is apparently tearing the sinews of established society asunder.

Is it surprising that Covid conspiracists are regarded as so utterly stupid?

Rob almost makes sense with his world weary attitude towards lock down etc - and almost grasped why govt has overreacted after being savaged by the press and left wing on the death count -but then wonders off into the realms of conspiracy like an ancient dementia patient wandering off into the cold wet night in slippers and pyjamas.
