Compulsory masks

Rob…I don’t give a rats ■■■ if you don’t wear them.

I’m used to people being lazy and selfish.

You seem to be having such a good argument with YOURSELF mate, I neither said you did, nor care if you do or don’t.

As for your last comment,…that goes without saying being that you’ve spent half your life dealing with the Police…

Working for the police would be better context for your final comment

I got your point.
Stereotypes are for the lazy and ignorant Rob.

Just to add a little spice on the mask subject I was listening to a foreign doctor last week who as Rob says we are going to have to live with this virus for a long time.
According to him that means helping protect each other by mask wearing social distancing and all else that prevents the virus spreading.
He also reckons mask wearing will become mandatory in certain places and that will be the new normal for the foreseeable future in most countries including the UK.

That may cause a few problems here and there.

It may well cause problems:
People will be dropping like flies as they suffocate.
There will be many getting “dentist`s lung”, that disease caused by wearing masks that kills dental surgeons at 45.
Poor lorry drivers will be suffering from “irony overdose” as they see others mask wearing.

The lack of personal freedom to the whole population, not to be able to breathe virus laden gob onto door handles and other people`s faces is awful. How will we ever keep going?

Wear a mask? Oh, swoon…I feel faint at the threat to myself!

I think you two are actually ‘‘enjoying’’ all this pandemic stuff in a funny and curious sort of way.

Monkey241:

Hmmmm don’t really get the logic in that.
Stereotypes are born by the personal, general,.and similar experiences of the said subject by a collection of individuals, whatever or whoever that subject may be.
They ain’t just made up on a whim.
But good retort anyhow.

There’s a new Covid variant available now,just in time for Xmas…rumour has it,it’s a 2 mask job :open_mouth: ( I made that last bit up )

I know you re joking mate, and I dont if I’ve mentioned this, but I DID actually see some idiot with a mask under his full face visor the other week,…I kid you not. :unamused:
Must have been of Irish origin…‘‘To be sure,.to be sure sor’’

Just wondering… are all you habitual mask wearers the same types, or even the same guys who wear their hi viz whilst driving’?

(That’s it I reckon I ve just about offended everybody now, my work is done for the night :sunglasses:  )

I like it, yeah I enjoy a good discussion and all the different opinions on here Rob.
Although we certainly don’t agree on every subject I like most of your retorts and some of the stories about your life as a truck driver. I can relate to it very well being probably a bit older than you but the same sort of generation. I guess some on here are a lot younger.

No. I’m “not enjoying it”.
If you hadn’t noticed, I’m taking it quite seriously…
But I am not getting into a frothy mouthy rage about what I can’t control. I’m not that fussed about what some others among us get their knickers all twisted up about…
But I still do have ( like it or lump it) a sense of humour about it.
.
It ain’t me losing my cool (God I’m jealous of those gods with it) because I have to wear a piece of cloth on my face…
.

I’ll do the rather easy things I can do, to orotect myself and others, but not lose sleep about what is beyond me.
.
Enjoy a situation like this?
Nonsense.
The only ones enjoying it are the YouTubers, and those banned from there, monetizing their bizarre views.

Whoops
Double post

I’m keen to hear of your close up experience of working with any police Rob

But here:.
stereotype

/ˈstɛrɪə(ʊ)tʌɪp,ˈstɪərɪə(ʊ)tʌɪp/

Learn to pronounce

noun

a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.

Widely held…often by those who have fallen foul of the police, often criminals.

Oversimplified…lazy and ignorant. But typical of your reasoning.

Colour??

At least theres a new variant - direct from the lungs of a dying AIDS patient to yours. Dont worry about the mask boys, they cant fool you.

Good news from the BBC !!

Let’s hope he is correct and the current vaccines do prevent serious illness and death.
Apparently most in SA that have the ‘O’ variant are young unvaccinated and although far from well
have not been hospitalised.
It may be more transmissable though so more masks required.

From the link:
"Asked whether it was possible to update the vaccines if deemed necessary, Prof Pollard added: “The processes of how one goes about developing a new vaccine are increasingly well oiled. So, if it’s needed, that is something that could be moved very rapidly.”

More scope for the conspiracy enthusiasts to suggest that if/when any new variant vaccine is introduced it will be “impossibly quick”, “rushed and untested” etc etc.
When do we turn into zombies from the current jabs by the way? I`m sure someone here put a date on it??

Aye that “Karen off Faceache” always posts correctly doesn`t she*?

*Actually easy to appear so.
Post loads of stuff out of sight predicting everything possible. Then a year later publish links to the 1% that was correct.

Oh yeah, can’t wait, thoroughly amusing at times.
Plenty good info on transport on here but there is plenty bull about other issues.

They have started already. Apparently the new variant came from the booster jabs. :unamused:
