JeffA:
Riddle me this - if masks dont do anything how come everytime you see a doctor operating on someone they always have a bleedin mask on? Do you think its a fashion statement?
The next time you need an operation insist that all the doctors go maskfree. Bet you dont believe your own [zb] that much!
Are you also surprised Stu hasnt pointed out the shortage of Doctors, Dentists and Nurses? Having worn masks for decades they must all die young mustnt they?
stu675:
The public do not wear masks like, nor in the same way, as surgeons
But you see the principle tho? Clearly masks do something important or surgeons wouldnt have worn em for 80 years. Why do you think surgeons wear masks? Bad breath?

Not that difficult to grasp given what’s below the surgeons, exposed, organs and tissues etc,any contamination in that type of scenario should be blindingly obvious.Ludicrous assertion.

Very difficult how to understand the R rate in the UK I would say.
There are about 3 million more people in London than Scotland and from what I hear even although they are compulsory in Scotland in shops etc some don’t bother.
Of course these R rates are not very accurate.
How can they be.

Even harder to spot the correlation between mask wearing and rising or dropping R rates, since mask introduction is often as a result of an already rising R rate

Can you habitual mask wearers explain something to me.
If you are wearing your mask,.and believe it is protecting you from whatver…
Why do you still feel threatened when you meet someone who chooses not to wear one?
I was coming out of the khazi at Cullompton msa this morning,.I went to open the door and was conftonted by Mr Maskedman who opened it first.
The look of shear terror in his eyes was unreal, then he went on to do one of those jump 2 steps back country dance things you all do now when someone approaches you within 3 yards. …as if I was some kind of rabid leper outcast that he had met.
I would have thought that his ‘mode of protection’ would provide him with some sort of comfort shield .
A classic mixture of brainwash and paranoia in this guys case,.
I reckon if I felt the need to go about my daily life like that, I’d never leave the ■■■■ house.
We have to learn to live with all this crap, it ain’t going away anytime soon
I just try and live as normal life as possible, with the exception of foreign holidays for a while, as I can think of nothing worse than sitting around a pool getting paranoia vibes from people like him in his mask on his ■■■■ sun lounger
It would just do my head in.

I’d give him a pass for this, the one scenario where face-diapers are a smart move given the appalling stench that emanates from these sheisen haus across the network.Membury springs to mind ,eye watering levels of uric essence completely permeates the joint, including the foodhall all because, apparently, some child may mistakenly eat one of those colourful fragrance things they put,or used to, in the urinals.Actually got told this by a cleaner working there. Not been there for a while miself, but it probably hasn’t changed.

Would probably be a waste of our time, because

you`ve already decided he is in the wrong.
Didn’t say he was ‘‘in the wrong’’, he’s entitled to do wtf he wants no matter how bizarre.
I was just commenting on his paranoia and asking why bother wearing his mask, when he obviously believed it was not going to stop something that in his view I may have given him.

Ffs Rob…how can you argue for or against when you still haven’t grasped what the mask is for?
Face masks do a fair job of stopping lots of the water droplets we breath out that could contain the Covid virus.
They aren`t so good at stopping any smaller droplets out there that might contain virus, we breathe in.

robroy:
If you are wearing your mask,.and believe it is protecting you from whatver…
Mask wearing is much more about protecting others than protecting ourselves.
.
It does help to protect the wearer, a bit, but like all the recommended measures, is not a simple 100% cure.
Mask wearing, hand disinfection, distancing, all help a little and are (for most of us) no real hardship.

Since you know nothing about his health, or the health of those he may be with, you are making judgment on the basis of zero relevant information. Making judgment without knowing basic facts has a name…bit since Ive already been far too brave with my keyboard Ill leave it to others to explain that to you.

So do I.
When I am in rainy November UK I behave in a certain way, normally involving raincoats. Not much call for war-paint.
When I am in strong summer sun, I wear sun block. I dont take the ■■■■ out of Aussies or cricketers wearing zinc cream. . 5 years ago I lived in a world where there was no Covid. I didnt wear a mask because it wasn`t needed.
Today I live in a world where there is Covid, so I do wear masks.
So “learn to live with this crap”, pretending it isnt there aint learning anything.
