Why stop at a mask? Why not insist on full PPE whenever interacting with anyone? That has also been proven to be even more effective than just a mask. In fact, include full PPE and 2m distancing whenever you interact with anyone. That would be miles better than just a mask and poor old Covid would be dead in the water…
You could even insist onnit between partners. They are after all amongst the most likely to infect you.

So what about the above? Any objection? More effective than the mask proposal for sure.

Good Idea!
The perfect solution for Drama Queens.

Just take a simple proportionate response and ramp it up to the nth degree.
What do you do for an encore? Claim a 0mph limit is much safer than a 30mph limit?
Say wearing seat belts is stupid because you aren`t wearing a crash hat and body armour?

Well yes exactly.

At what point do you stop? What is “acceptable risk”?

And why is mask wearing ok but not gloves and distancing and an apron as well?

The point is that risk is all around us.

My point here is this. Everyone has their own idea of acceptable risk. Just because yours is different to mine does not make you right and me wrong. Especially as there are many more things beyond your threshold we COULD do.

I’m happy without a mask thanks. It has served me well for 48 years. If you wish to wear one then that’s fine by me. Please do me the same courtesy.

Talking of the sacrifices of lives by many, whilst complaining about wearing a bit of material over your face!! Really■■?

The speed I drive past a school is completely irrelevant. I can choose to drive past at 80mph if I want to. There may be consequences - but that’s my choice. Same with choosing to not wear a mask…

These “wear a face mask and be safe” supporters posts contradict yourselves… On the one hand you do want to force me to wear a mask to be safe. But on the other dont want me to wear full PPE. - which would actually serve your purpose much better. So you only want me to be a bit safe not very safe?

Alluding to wearing a ‘face nappy’ simply dumbs down the debate to a level you’re comfortable with, whilst weaponising your own supposed intellectual superiority.

What strikes me most is that still you fail to address the pertinent point.

I don’t assume you’re intellectually inferior simply from your opinion; I gain that opinion from the facts before me.

My background both academically and professionally demanded the use of evidence to form a logical argument to prove or disprove something. I’m fairly good at weighing sources and regularly seek out opposing views.

I haven’t told you to wear anything. You of course can wear what you choose (at the moment). I’ve never claimed a definitive answer on facemasks beyond a belief from what I’ve read that they mitigate.

The one thing I have stated is a problem with your condemnation or ridicule of those who wear a mask. The simple fact is if I’m wrong, wearing a mask is little beyond a trivial inconvenience
If you’re wrong it may have serious impact on other people.

Use your first, concentrate on the facts presented and debate the argument in front of you rather than the fiction you imagine.

When your teeth are pulled you blame Tony Blair!

You clearly don’t have a degree from that waffle. Just jump on the “Mickey mouse degree”/ university of life bandwagon eh?

I’d suggest my wife is likely to have a lot more medical qualifications and experience than you. 25 years is reasonable experience to go with that…

I dont care if you wear a mask. I dont care if you wear a bucket on your head. Just stop patronising the rest of us that don’t want one and quoting scientists that litter their rhetoric with “maybe” and " as much as" and “quite possibly”…

The “facts” are that much of Covid the scientists have got wrong. Still waiting for the 100k infections per day for example. No one is taking a blind bit of notice of Covid now and yet have infections rocketed? No, the have stabilised at a figure at least 70% lower than the scientists claimed would be the case… And as much as 170% lower, depending o the scientist in question.

You’re last point. If you’re wrong, they’re a pain in the arse and a germ spreader.

If you’re right… Then surely wearing full PPE is a better option. So why not advocate that…? Or is a bit of mitigation acceptable, but not a lot of mitigation?[emoji108]

Just a simple right to choose for yourself is all I ask.

A lot of of our forefathers fought some bloody battles to enable the above. I just want that to continue.

Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Do you have the right to choose what speed you drive past the school gates? No.
Your personal freedom is limited by the right to safety of others.
.

Make your minds up won’t you? [emoji2357][emoji2357][emoji23]

Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

I don’t want you to wear a mask to be safe. How can you argue a case against an argument you clearly haven’t even grasped?

Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk

Semantics dear boy.

Did you know that assuming everyone that doesn’t share your opinion is inferior intellectually is a sure sign that you only have room for one idea in your head at a time?

Don’t worry though, im sure having a face nappy on means you’ll exude intelligence.

But, as they say, appearances are often deceptive.[emoji1787][emoji2357]

Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

One doesn’t exude intelligence, one displays it
Alluding to wearing a ‘face nappy’ simply dumbs down the debate to a level you’re comfortable with, whilst weaponising your own supposed intellectual superiority.

Sadly, you’ve a magazine full of blank rounds. Weapon firing, weapon firing…weapon stops [emoji6]

I’m winding you up you poor fish… “Dumbs down the debate”…You really have got the left wing [zb] off to a tee…[emoji106][emoji2357]

Everyone does it…- even the odd doctor and professor you know

One can exude intelligence - you clearly haven’t read much literature, or you’d have seen that expression before…

I have never suggested a superior intelligence. Merely that I wish to choose whether to wear a face covering and not be dictated to by you, or anyone else. My wife is a medic and disapproves of them being worn all the time citing the reason being that people dont wear them correctly and that they assume with one on they are safe (they arent) and therefore take more risks.

Incidentally, I have a first class honours degree. Let us know whether that is intelligent enough for you buddy…And perhaps your list of intelligence displaying evidence - apart from believing everything the BBC says I mean![emoji38]

Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Oh dear… your wife is a medic?
Job jobbed then.

You have a first? Blair has a lot to answer for.

I find it odd that given said First, you appear to use it as proof of intelligence. It may be, but it most certainly isn’t a given.

In my day 1 in 12 obtained a degree. Its more like 1 in 2.5 now. I wonder if you’re my generation or not? [emoji6]

Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk

Oh dear …

Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

I don’t have a degree?

Always better to ask. I do. Earned in 1988. Blair didn’t pull my teeth but he did devalue the qualification.
Masks as super spreaders? Not to any significant degree.

Full PPE? Have you not figured out just why that’s so absurd that it barely warrants a response?

And yes…much of what the scientists ‘knew’ about covid was wrong.

I guess that’s the point of scientists. To review the available evidence and give the best answers available at the time.

Given my response regarding degrees it is amusing that you still attempt to use it as evidence of superior intellect.

I know I’m smart. I also know I’ve met far smarter people without a degree

Perhaps I’m just more self aware too [emoji6]

You “know you’re smart”! Wow. And modest too, eh?

Well, nothing like being judged by yourself to prove your metal is there?

In my case I was judged by staff and examiners over 3 years via Leeds University. I’d suggest they are better judges than you are.

Have a nice evening.

See ‘self aware’.

Usually quite self deprecating too [emoji6]

An interesting video on highly populated countries if anyone’s interested. froma reliable source.

I did question at first if, a Dr. sitting in front of the msm billboarding instructions saying it was ‘good’ that countries had a high level of jabbed people and referring to said jab as a vaccine could give a neutral interpretation. But having watched it all, it does seem to support the claim that it’s a pandemic of hysteria, that has been prolonged by following the instructions of one set of scientists.
Unfortunately I think the Western world’s bed has now been made and we all are forced to lay in it.

The jab is a vaccine, inconvenient as that may be.
Is it a pandemic of hysteria? Certainly press reaction has applied pressure to politicians

Ok poppy, what would you say the primary function of a vaccine is, take your time, it may burden that brain of yours to actually try thinking for yourself. But hey, give it a go, you may like it.

Did you actually take 18 minutes to watch the video?
