Can compensation be taken on a split daily rest ?
2 hours of compensation required fron a reduced weekly rest.
3 hour break taken during the shift.
11 hours rest at end of shift.
Can this be a split daily rest of 3 + 9 with 2 hours of compensation?
I think the answer is yes but have I missed something ?

Don’t see why not. It simply has to be attached to another rest period of at least 9 hours.

yes you can, as long as you have a 9 hour reduced rest period available.

Nope - just idle curiosity
Wasn’t sure if it could be done that way as there was nothing specific about it in the regs (not with doing a split) - I do now

Tagged onto a reduced 9 or a full 11, yes, but I was not 100% sure about it when a split was done

Article 8 (7). Any rest taken as compensation for a reduced weekly rest period shall be attached to another rest period of at least nine hours.
What could be more specific than that. It doesn’t say, shall be attached to another rest period of at least nine hours except where the nine hours is part of a split rest.

I know so I ASSUMED that doing it to a split would be ok but you know what they say about ASSUMPTIONS

I can see this being split by a mod and going to somewhere else but that is just an ASSUMPTION
