Company holiday

if a company gives you less than the legal allowance of holiday is there anything you can do/any company you can contact that will look into the problem and speak to the company themselves to make them change there holiday allowance?

ACAS would likely be your best bet. They will liaise between you and the company - but have no actual power.

Are you sure the company are giving less than you should get?

yes

the rule for standard working patterns (5+2) is 28 days per year, this CAN, but does not have to, include bank holidays, there are 8 bank holiday in England, which leaves 20 days to take as and when you like (in theory)

they can insist that you save some of your holiday entitlement for company shut down periods, such as christmas

what shift pattern are you on?

are you full or part time?

and how many days per year are they giving you?

Ring ACAS they will tell you what todo

Yes ring in sick, you can have as much holiday as you like, depending on your GP.

make sure you havent signed a contract saying you agree to it

make sure you havent signed a contract saying you agree to it

it wouldn’t matter.
you cannot sign away a legal right.

(unless there is an opt out system in the law, which there isn’t for holidays)
