I’m new to the site (well posting on here at least).
I’m currently a class 1 & 2 driver for my company’s feed haulage company. They have asked me to become the company’s CPC Holder (not driver CPC, that’s another story ) while maintaining my current driving role.
I earn approx £26k per annum, which locally is a good salary for the work / hours we do.
I’m curious what sort of increase in salary I could expect /ask for if I become the CPC holder? I appreciate there will be increased responsibilty with the position which I’m prepared for, but not aware of what reward this responsibility will bring. A senior colleague at work advised one consultant had offered his CPC holding services for £35k per annum, not doing anything else for that money
Anyone else on here become a CPC holder for their firm and what sort of money do you earn / did you get as a result of doing the course?
If they are using your C.P.C. that you worked for at your own time and expense then you should be salaried on £30,000.You will be in a pivotal role where the buck stops with you.

For 35k They can have mine and I will MAKE THE TEA
I work for a small company with only 3 in the fleet, the company paid for the CPC and all I got was a certificate and a big fat headache from the drivers when things start to be changed to make sure I don’t end up in front of the TC, as you are going to carry on as a driver make sure you have a trustworthy person in the office making sure things are done legally, Good luck
Small company usually the cream of the crop so why do you want extra money?? Might be if staff have to be reduced you’ll be safe, thats worth a few bob on it’s own.Is it just your CPC they want to use,no managerial duties or are you going to be expected to be some type of manager then I do believe you should be entitled to an increase, possibly en extra £5 grand per annum depending on your duties. But if you are all a happy family working legally with good wages for your area well it’s Xmas.Could be the start of something big.
i would be more concerned about what VOSA would consider me as being responsible for. drivers infringements, vehicle MOTs etc. its your neck on the line so i would want to be doing the job that enable me to make sure everything is legal and have the authority to enforce the law within the company. i sure as hell wouldnt hand it over to someone else no matter how much money they were offering
