After seeing a hell of a lot of posts about this topic (mainly mine) I thought it might be a good idea to get together a list of companies that are known to take on new drivers. If you have any and wish to share them please post them here and I will add them to the list as time goes on.

Guess we are not including the North West or the North East in this?

CV them all, either a nay or yay. Some firms like to take on newly passed now as they can have them doing they’re rules from the start and don’t like the old guard.
Some may have an agreement with insurers though but try your luck.

the trouble is at the moment most companies can pick and choose so while what your trying to do is a good thing it could become misleading, imo the best way is to go door knocking dont call dont write or email, chances are knock on the right door you will get a start with the right attitude. at present some like stobarts will take newbies on but if say they have a run of accidents that may stop and quick! i think in general at present there are a lot of experienced drivers struggling to find permenant work yet alone newly qualified.

Uniloads are advertising on the job centre site, I know it’s not the best job in the world. But they are asking for newly qualified drivers. Worth a try to get some driving experience

pringles of carluke take on new drivers, mostly trunk work but some odd start times. couple of new drivers just started recently.
