Looking to go direct to a company near Mansfield alfreton or surrounding areas.

Not going to work like that sunbeam. Phone calls, knocking on doors, and annoying the security bloke is the way to go.
Done that sunbeam just using every tool at ones disposal and oh yeah sorted

If West do use LTD direct, the money must be brilliant @ weekends, because the agency rates are/were very good
TBF, I`ve never heard of anybody going in directâŚ
true they need to pay top dollar as the company is awful to work for.

Errrrr Yes
Awful is a pretty polite description, I`m still trying to work out how they get the work, very poorly planned with average equipment and poorly motivated staff
I was lucky enough to be banned years ago, because I had the audacity to refuse 3 x trucks which were not fit for scrap never mind the road.
I do believe this has improved but the way the bloke in the office spoke to me and a few others no wonder they have a window and locked door.

Its changed a bit since your days then, according a good mate of mine who used to go in there a lot, turning down kit was the norm, until you got something resembling road worthy
THF, a lot of the dead heads they get in there, don`t report anything and the next driver picks up the hassle
Even the Poles think its crap

Every time milestone got someone new in the office, I and everyone else would start getting calls asking us to go down to thorntons from Bawtry. I did get to a silly point where there where offers of ÂŁ30+ bonus (regularly paid) to cover travel expenses. It did get silly with drivers asking for (and getting) more. But someone put an end to the payments
As for the âpolesâ I doubt Iâd need both hands to count em up at Bawtry. So it wasnât exactly flooded. There was only 2-3 regulars inc Seb and his mate who spent several years onsite. And AFAIK when the âCPC panicâ kicked in last Sept a couple went on the books with DHL

yep that was when I lost the plot a bit after eventually getting truck number 3 which turned left whilst braking and I was steering right, told them to shove it.
that and falling out with Reynolds at the same week meant I moved onto decent work

TBF, the âfloodingâ was driver talk amongst the Milestone mob who came down.
I was in the office @ Bawtry one evening, when at least six Poles were told there was no work for them, NOT happy would be the diplomatic description
Its all Polish in the re-pack though isnât it ?
but they would have got their smile miles.
