Companies near alfreton taking ltd company drivers

Looking to go direct to a company near Mansfield alfreton or surrounding areas.

If West do use LTD direct, the money must be brilliant @ weekends, because the agency rates are/were very good :bulb:

TBF, I`ve never heard of anybody going in direct…

true they need to pay top dollar as the company is awful to work for.

Errrrr Yes :unamused:

Awful is a pretty polite description, I`m still trying to work out how they get the work, very poorly planned with average equipment and poorly motivated staff

I was lucky enough to be banned years ago, because I had the audacity to refuse 3 x trucks which were not fit for scrap never mind the road.

I do believe this has improved but the way the bloke in the office spoke to me and a few others no wonder they have a window and locked door.

Its changed a bit since your days then, according a good mate of mine who used to go in there a lot, turning down kit was the norm, until you got something resembling road worthy :open_mouth:

THF, a lot of the dead heads they get in there, don`t report anything and the next driver picks up the hassle :imp:

Even the Poles think its crap :open_mouth:

Every time milestone got someone new in the office, I and everyone else would start getting calls asking us to go down to thorntons from Bawtry. I did get to a silly point where there where offers of ÂŁ30+ bonus (regularly paid) to cover travel expenses. It did get silly with drivers asking for (and getting) more. But someone put an end to the payments
As for the “poles” I doubt I’d need both hands to count em up at Bawtry. So it wasn’t exactly flooded. There was only 2-3 regulars inc Seb and his mate who spent several years onsite. And AFAIK when the “CPC panic” kicked in last Sept a couple went on the books with DHL

yep that was when I lost the plot a bit after eventually getting truck number 3 which turned left whilst braking and I was steering right, told them to shove it.

that and falling out with Reynolds at the same week meant I moved onto decent work

TBF, the “flooding” was driver talk amongst the Milestone mob who came down.

I was in the office @ Bawtry one evening, when at least six Poles were told there was no work for them, NOT happy would be the diplomatic description :open_mouth:
Its all Polish in the re-pack though isn’t it ?

but they would have got their smile miles.
