I was stuck in norfolk today and my base in Coventry closes at 5 with all gates locked with my car inside so i wouldn’t be able to drive back from coventry home to rugby. I rang the boss and told him I was going to be late. He didn’t want to wait for me to get back so just told me to drive the wagon home. Because I’m sure the neighbours will love my 26 ton In the street

So I’m going to be using this lorry for my commute in the morning for the quick trip between rugby and coventry. Where do I stand with drivers hours and tacho rules on this. Because I’m not being paid and I’m not on shift? I have a long day tomorrow likely with a night out.
