Commute

Just thinking, how long is your commute to work?

The job I’ve applied for has a 30 min commute. 5-10 more than the admin job I’ve got now.

When I was based at Exeter, I could do the commute to the yard in about 1 1/2 hous. They transfered me to Barnstaple which is 5 miles closer in milage but the commute took nearer 2 hours. (once a week as tramping)

This was one of the factors in my decision to call it quits.

Got casual work lined up and the yard is about 10 mins from home

I would go up to half hour away, think any more is taking the ■■■■ unless its a really well paid job. Used to be 5 mins from last job was glorious leaving 10 mins before shift and still clocking in before time

'Bout 35 mins twice each week, tramping.
Doing UK pallets nights same every day so I’m up about £40/week on the petrol

4o Mins each way. It’s ok if I’m away all week. But when local…Tis’ a right batsard!

5 minutes

A hour and a half

where you off monday taff

Up here in the twilight zone, any more than an hour and it gets rubbered.

Edit - daily.

2 seconds, the unit is outside the house.

I guess i’m lucky, takes 3 mins to get to work… walking :sunglasses:
