Hi guys new to this so looking for some advice, am thinking of getting a 7.5 ton bin wagon (only a baby one) however it is fitted with a tacho, do i need to use this ? it will be collecting mostly commercial waste , pubs ,shops etc , read somewhere that bin wagons collecting bin bags and recylclables door to door are exempt, but didn’t say those doors had to be domestic houses .

I don’t think that you would be exempt from tachograph regulations collecting waste from commercial premises as the derogation states that it’s for “door-to-door household refuse collection”.
Your best option would be to contact VOSA for clarification but don’t be surprised if you need to use the tachograph
