I never use POA. I’m paid for 48 hours a week, and to be honest rarely get anywhere near it. Start at 6.15 (tacho is on other work until I drive away) do checks curtains etc. and usually leave at about 6.45. 3hours 15 driving to hub, about 30mins on rest outside. Go into hub, do about 5 mins driving, wait to be loaded on rest (at least 30 min.) then onto other work to check load, close up (about 15 mins) then drive back home (3 h 15m again). Park truck and go home usually between 3 and 3.30. Total hours including rest and other work is still under 48 per week.
Not gloating, just that the whole WTD makes no difference at all except that we used to be paid for 12 hours a night, now it’s for 48 a week on the same money.
