argos are doing away with the instore catalogs and order slips . in future they will have instore screens where you select and order goods for delivery . it was in the newspaper recently . not sure if you can collect in store , or if everything will be delivered .i suppose eventually the shops will go and it will become another online retailer .
Delivering stuff costs a fair amount. I can’t see them running .com style puddlejumpers to do it all.
It’s in their own interests I would have thought to get the punters coming to the store, and take away the merchandise all by themselves.
The grade of store might go downwards, and stationary is disappearing, but even if they did decide to become an “online retailer”, they’d have to fully engage other firms to move the stuff around the now-publicly accessible depots around the country.

I imagine Argos spends more money on printing than anything else, seems a bit of a daft thing now we all have accaess to a computer
