is eddie deville any relation to kenny who used to be on for shirleys??
Don’t think so, he did have 3 sons, I remember one of them being named Edward, I think there was a William, but I can’t remeber the other, we went on holiday with them a couple of times.
Eddie died a couple of years ago, no doubt Eddie & my Dad are in the ‘bar above the clouds’ talking diesel along with all the other drivers departed.
i would imagine kenny would have been his brother or cousin, he is probably in his late 50’s now. he used to live in meir. he could fall out with himself if there was no one else around
Used to work with Alan Nicklin a few years ago on the milk, he is still doing a bit of driving for pro drive in uttoxeter top bloke, always had a good story to tell about when he was on comarts probably one of the best blokes ive ever met when i was driving.
Also know the mcanns, they are still running to spain and italy despite the e blockers screwing the job, saw richard (simons brother who i know better) the other day cartiing straw up the A500.
FLIP when you were on Mcanns do you remember QUAZZY and MARK HARMER??, plus do any of you remember my dad Ade Walkman who died a few years ago, he used to work for CARR & HODGEKINSON based at draycott near blythe bridge?? shifting JCB`s before brit euro got the job
just noticed reading the story about Wink, loaded Cueno tipped London next day / night
That was good going in those days, considering it was nearly all nationals.
Hi adam. Yes I took over Quazzies F12 when he left, coula hours with the hoover & de crabber & it was fine
Mark aka Harry set up his own fencing & shed/barn building business out towards Milwich but his mate Steve Cashmore who worked at Simons’ for ages with me tells me he’s now back doing some for Brit’s. Not sure where Quaz is now as he left Brit’s some time ago.
Rich was always a good lad, much more like his dad & always up for a night out when he was running Spain himself, had many a happy night at Sunbilla & Moncofar (nr Nules) with Rich
Come across this photo, don’t know who took it ?, but it was certainly taken early 70’s has the Green ERF in the background was one of the origanal Smiths Service fleet, which became Comart’s and obviously, this Scania was just out of the paint shop as it has no number plate on it, the Scania’s were in the early fleet.
Think it maybe this one LHD (WEH 932 G) my Dad had for a while
Found some more photos and a news pape cutting from 1972, when Comart’s had one turnover at Trentham Lights which now is the roundabout by Trentham gardens, I have a feeling that the drivers were trying to get rid of the ERF’s !!!
Again, if anybody as any stories or photos, please feel free to post.
Due to the forum change all the photo links have gone, I hope those that saw them enjoyed them, has I am not spending the time putting them back on again !!!
I will put them eventually on my own photo site when I get time. Along with all the other photos I have posted on this site
Thanks !!!
Unless Trucknet admin can make them re appear as quick as they disapppeared

Well !!
After calming down overnight, I’ve decided to pick my dummy up again and start to re-attach the photos as best I can, will have them all done eventually, thought it would be disloyal to my Dads memory if i didn’t.

Great to see the old F88s, i used to go with my step dad to Italy in the 70s when he worked for Eagle wing he had an F88 as well, i can remember having some good nights out with Comart drivers and Biss international drivers, definatley the good old days.
