I stand to be corrected ,but believe it is 17 years ago today that he won his one and only World Championship , where’s the time gone . The current WRC doesn’t float my boat by comparison , back then you never knew what might happen but it was always great entertainment ,both on and off the stages Here’s to Colin
I don’t see what relevance your link has to Colin McCrae, Carryfast so here is one that makes at least a little sense. youtube.com/watch?v=IMLSHq_b4lk
A top man in the sport, and a very sad end to a talent…
Used to service on these events when Jimmy was the man…RIP Colin…

I just posted it as an alternative to the present WRC which the OP said wasn’t as good as previous rally series.I gradually lost interest after the rear drive cars like the TR7 and Rover V8 etc went out and after that I preferred classic tarmac road rallying instead. But it would have been great to have seen Mc Crea v Pond in those old series cars.
That’s cool ,an old school friend from back home still rallies an ex Pond SD1,an awesome beast . Re Pond v McRae , and I’ve sat with both , I reckon Colin would edge it because of his never give up attutude despite the condition of whatever car he’d just rolled into a ball of scrap
.
Remember when he had a run out in a Jordan F1 at Silverstone , Eddie was apoplectic and wanted "the hooligan " out of his car that minute, McRae got sent the message and went into a series of donuts just to infuriate him further.
Anything with a steering wheel or handlebars and he could nail it .
RIP Colin McRae…
On a lighter note, My wife drives like that on the school run…
Roger Clark was one of the best British rally drivers. Its ironic that Richard Burns Colin McRae and Roger Clark all died young, two from health issues and the other in a Helicopter crash.
