Not wishing to tar ALL coach drivers with the same brush , but am i missing something ■■?
Just finished a night run to Manchester and back , M40/M6 , blah blah…anyway , off the top of my head , at least 6 or 7 coaches went past me , no worries , BUT , everyone of them i " flashed in " , and not one thanked me , no indicators/lights , nothing …
Is the divide between truck drivers and coach drivers that bad now or is it just me ■■?
Is it really that important for someone to flash indicators a couple of times? Yes it’s courteous but coach drivers would spend half their day doing this with the amount of wagons they overtake. Plus drivers are getting less and less courteous now anyway so I’m not surprised by it! Just let it ride!!
Coaches dont need flashing in, there as fast as cars really. But the few times i have they have pretty much always danced their indicators, sometimes they do it even when i dont flash in.
most coaches appear to be fitted with rear facing cameras these days ,so he probably didnt even see you flash because as soon as the tv screen shows him hes past he is looking forward
Don’t bother flashing coaches in any more, I never bother unless they’ve helped me out in some way. They don’t need a flash in if they’re passing you at a rate of 5-7mph really.
Plus, all the coach drivers I’ve ever spoken to, have been complete and utter helmets with a massively over-inflated view of thier role in the world.
It’s because you were in the wrong part of the country. When you pass Bristol heading north most coach and bus drivers are miserable sods, come to think of it ALL drivers are miserable sods that far north . When I’m up that way I never get a wave back of a fellow coach driver unless it is another Westcountry firm. If I get flashed in I will ALWAYS give a couple of flashes of the indicators, it’s just courteous.
im driving coaches just now, i flash indicators if im flashed. but i can maybe think of 2 out of 100 oher coach drivers that arent ■■■■■■■■■■ about the same numbers as lorry drivers to be honest. If it was a night trunk you were on im guessing most of the coaches that past you were overnight services, london to aberdeen/inverness. Stagecoach, Citylink, National Express, Megabus… they’re no real coach drivers…

Yep, they are mostly a bunch of miserable sods who are only bus drivers going to and from the same places each and every day. I love having variety and I hated doing service work.
