Hearing on the news about s terrible crash involving a coach carrying pensioners and a truck near Bordeaux killing 42. It says the coach lost control on a bend and collided with the truck and they both burst into flames trapping most of the passengers on the coach who were burned alive
Only 8 people have survived.
God help them, a terrible turn of events.

You got that backwards. The lorry went wide on a bend and veered in the path of the coach hitting it head on.

Thanks for putting the link up.
Now up to 43 as a 3 year old girl has been found in the wreckage of the truck.
Terrible news.
That must be one hell of a gruesome scene to have to deal with and clean up,terrible accident.
Terrible thing to have happened. Can’t imagine what it must be like to clean that up
terrible way to leave this earth as well, cannot think of anything worse than being burned alive, horrible, rip to the victims
Why do so many accidents in this day and age involve fire? Both vehicles in this crash were diesel fuelled which isn’t that volatile unless sprayed into the air over a flame. Speaking as someone who threw diesel onto a yard bonfire earlier (yes, I know) it wont burn without substantial ignition. I know in this case the truck was carrying wood so a mobile bonfire, sadly. Formula 1 has been pretty much fire free post crashes for years so why haven’t the safety features filtered down to road vehicles? Personally I blame all this superheating Euro 6 nonsense plus fancy electrics for a lot of it, fires post crash used to be the stuff of movies now it’s ever more common.
The French seemed quite graphic in their description of the deaths, anyone notice when a fatal crash and fire are reported over here the media say “person died of multiple injuries.” They tend to leave out the burning to death description, although it’s obvious not everyone must be dead beforehand.

I have thought for a while it might have something to do with the extreme heats generated from modern diesel engines and their exhaust systems, especially euro 6, that causes fires when involved in heavy accidents.
dbl post
it is all very sad, but the report that it is the drivers 3 year old son (probably a big day out with dad in a big truck) is just totally heartbreaking.
RIP
We live. We die.
Should have prayed harder…
migght have saved them. Lets all pray for them now…

Well that must rank as the most insensitive comment ever published on TNUK.
Fair enough if you don’t want to write RIP etc but for ■■■■■ sake show a little sensitivity why don’t you?
I know you’re trolling but I had to respond
Damoq I agree, in the pursuit of pleasing the tree huggers, they’ve increased the risk of all Euro 6 drivers burning to death. I’ll keep my Euro 5 truck, thanks.
Let’s just hope the smoke got to them first. Or heart failure.
