They are never not looking for drivers.

Are any of the supermarkets running shifts where you get weekends off? not every weekend but at least some.

Good money but no thanks. Way back when I was on agency I did two shifts for them; never again. Each morning of those two days I was sat in the canteen for about four hours, then when needed I still had to do the full shift. delivering on main roads, pushing trollies of frozen food up hills, stroppy managers who rang me every five minutes asking me where I was and will I be on time for the next drop.
Also the load wasn’t always loaded in the right order so there was a lot of moving heavy stock around in the back of the trailer.
To be fair that was a few years ago now so things might have improved

Even if you do get some weekends off, it’s generally very few. Sods law always dictates that special occasions/gathering of friends etc. never happen on your weekends off so you end up using holidays up anyway. Best off just working them all & book time off as & when.
If you want regular time at home at the weekends, keep away from retail work.
ha try booking a days holiday off over the weekend. you’ll get the answer yeah if you can get someone to cover it

No if anything its worse now
Got a phone call, asking if I wanted to come for assessment next week. I explained was working next week, available all this week & any weekend, no that doesn’t suit them. I asked what do you suggest we’ll just leave it, great attitude in fortunate position im in a job I like so not too fussed but I thought that was a poor attitude to have towards applicants.
