I passed my cat C in March this year. I read this ad on a certain agencies website;
Major HGV driver recruitment campaign, looking to recruit HGV 1 & 2 drivers to work for Wincanton — a European leader in supply chain solutions — at the Lea Green Distribution Centre in St Helens.
Successful applicants must be either a class one or two driver, have at least 180 driving days on their class of vehicle in the last two years and have no more than six minor penalty points.”
I was getting regular work but this has deminished to one or two days a week since ADR got the contract from Transline (not my agency). . I have now been told that I shoudnt have been given the job as it is a site rule that all drivers must have had thier licence for at least two years. I am now in a posoition where Im waiting to see if my agencies insurance will cover me, otherwise im out of the CO-OP. My view is that when I applied I was just going off the website and why is the issue only arisen now. All sounds a bit shady to me.
Does this sort of thing happen anywhere else? Any advice apprecciated.
