Co-op Castlewood first impressions rubbish

Went in thinking this will be fine being a brand new depot and all that.
Firstly 6 goods in baying being used and only 5 seats. The waiting room is tiny and from 2 of the seats you can touch the toilet door I don’t want to sit here listening and smelling people using toilet. There’s a sign saying you must stay in room.
Then the brand new coffee machine had error warning due to a leak so no drink from there. No soft drink machine either.
So I got fed up and sat on the step of my truck only to realise the good in bays are next to the big rubbish skips. The place stink and was full of flies.
I used to dislike Bulwell but that had an excuse that it was an old depot.

I don’t have to go to RDC’s and i take me hat off to you that do.

Sounds like a bloody punishment block with jackbooted guards and watchtowers, ‘‘for you Tommy ze var iss ofer’’, not allowed to leave the pokey bloody waiting room with no working vending macine in this weather?

If you kept pigs in conditions like this RSPCA would have you.

Well done Co-op keeping them scum of the earth lorry drivers in their place, sub human beings unworthy of reasonable consideration eh?

High time you lads that do RDC’s got together and unionised and got places like this blacked.

Glad I’m outa there… left a lot of friend when I moved on, strange that they make you sit in a waiting room, I’m sure you could sit in the truck at Blenheim.

+1

Most would prefer to just moan about them on the internet than actually do anything about them though. :unamused:

Drivers have no real power. If I refuse to go then no job. If I complain to coop then prob no job. Saying that the ■■■■■■■ the counter there was pleasant enough and it’s not her fault.

Can’t be any worse than tesco surely…!?

No we don’t on our own and no one’s suggesting you make a one man stand, this is the sort of thing unions are for.

Unions were formed years ago because working men were treated like crap, sounds high time working men got their collective spirit back instead of stabbing each other in the back.

I joined USDAW last year. First time ever in a union.
A had little but of trouble in work nothing too serious so I rang them up. The rep said go into meeting alone and if it goes against you I will turn up for the appeal. Here endith my lesson in unions.

You on your own there or something?, no shop steward?..though shop stewards have to be carefully elected as too many of them feather their own nests.

I hope someone from USDAW picks this up via a web crawler of some sort, be interesting to hear their response.

We have 40+ drivers at our depot but management won’t give Usdaw any way in even though they are the union that our recognised by our other depot.
