Co op Andover Automatic Rigids?

Hi,

I have a driving assessment next week at the Co-Op RDC at Andover Business Park. Does anyone know if the new rigid Scania’s they run are automatic or manual gearbox? Also the Scania tractor units? as hoping to progress to Class 1.

Thanks

I don’t mean to be rude or anything but does it really matter? Are you a driver or you’re a driver?

Not rude correct answer

Well considering I took both my test in an automatic lorrys it would be good to know. I guess I’m not a real driver then!

I work there, they are all manual 4 over 4… the tractor units are mostly manual but a few semi autos…

The driver trainers are spot on aswell.

Any questions feel free to ask or pm me

Thanks, i guess i better get some practice in then on a manual 4 over 4.

Its easy fella, as long as you show a safe drive and can back on to a bay. Your get a job.

Where are you from? Did you see the ad on the back of a lorry?

Cheers

I’m from just north of Andover from Upton. Going through milestone as I’m only 21 so hopefully will get a job. What are the runs like? Many drops? How long have you Ben working there

My point exactly, if I can do it, anyone can:mrgreen:

I’ve been here 2 year’s apart from a month i left to do palletways grass is greener and all that…

The runs vary from 1 drops to 8 drops depending on how many cages per shop and how far you go. All along the south coast, up to Oxford and out skirts of London… about 100 mile radius if that.

It’s a great job to get experience and if you don’t like it move on to other things.

I live in Andover town centre aswell.

How did you get on hay?

Are the warehouse staff at Andover as thick as pig-crap like the ones at Thurrock ?
Decent cage loaded with all the light stuff ( bog rolls , kitchen towels etc ) then load all the heavy stuff like booze, tin cans, bottles of pop etc on the ones that will not go in the right direction, or wont even move at all. That used to really F me off when I did agency work there :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:
