My boss advertises all year round just incase someone really good sends in a cv as he is more then happy to add another unit to the fleet for the right person as we have plenty of spare trailers and can find more work easy.
5 months ago I was joining the M1 and passed a wagon from my home town which had a sticker on the back saying drivers required so out of curiosity I rang the number to be told they were ok at the moment but we continued chatting anyway. The transport manager must have liked what I was saying so invited me for an interview anyway. Long story short they got rid of a driver that wasn’t performing and put me in his seat! So, as mrginge says, they perpetually advertise In the hope they’ll find the ‘diamonds in the rough’. Not saying I’m a diamond by the way but we are getting on very well so everybody is happy [emoji4]

I’ll bet there is one driver out there who ain’t too happy!
