Hi Harry,
A lorry driver mate of mine who now has health problems as does his wife bought a camper van last year, which they really enjoy. The only downside ,is as you say the parking fee’s and the need in popular places to book in advance, otherwise they are fully booked up.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Would have loved a camper van although they are not very practicable
for use as a runabout when on site, although after having said that my
car never gets moved from arriving on site to departing preferring to go
places by bus, you have to remember the buses for me and my good lady
cost nothing so no parking and fuel costs.
thanks harry, long retired.
That’s an advantage being able to use the bus for free Harry. The only problem that could arise is if they cut the funding for that.
Reading the Hereford Times today, the council are cutting 300 jobs and funding for loads of services.Lets hope they don’t cut anymore. Our lot this side the border are cutting back as well.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Yes Dave I’m going to give it some stick whilst we still have the perk , I’m trying
to get the missus to give up the car, I’m not bothered about driving now but all
she says is O’h keep it, it comes in handy, a darned expensive thing to keep for
just doing the odd bit of shopping a couple of times a week and the odd night at
the Bingo, I certainly wouldn’t miss the driving, I’ve had a licence for 61 years this
month (motorbike at age 16) so I feel ready to hand the keys in.
thanks harry, long retired.
Get what you can while you can Harry.I’m afraid this country is in meltdown. The sooner these politicians wise up the better.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
There has been voting here today in the County Council elections, not being happy
with either Labour or Conservative for a while now I cast my vote for UKIP well it’s
unlikely they’ll be any better but in my opinion it’s worth a try they can’t be any
worse.
thanks harry, long retired.

Listening to the news this morning Harry,it sounds as if UKIP have shaken the other parties up and gained quite a bit of ground,They can’t do any worse than the others.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
There’s been nothing in our local paper yet as to who and who hasn’t triumphed,
it’ll most likely be on the North East news tonight it did say that UKIP had made
big steps and taken some seats but haven’t seen any facts and figures as yet, it
did say on my ballot paper the UKIP candidate was an out of towner so that might
not have been in their favour in what was just local County Council elections they
do tend to get overlooked because they are not a known face, anyway my cross is
on the UKIP candidate so it’s a case of wait and see.
thanks harry, long retired.

We didn’t have any elections in this part of Wales Harry. They always have council elections on a different year to England. We obviously have the general election on the same date as the rest of the UK.
Cheer’s Dave.

Didn’t get much choice in our village Harry, just labour or conservative which created a 30% turnout!

No choice was there, Cons retained their seat, I was bewildered by the lack of choice so had to flip a coin, which ended up the loser
hiya,
It won’t make any difference to my pension pay packet whoever wins even the
local politicians look after themselves first and foremost they’re only in it for
what they can make out of it and screwing the system is the name of the game.

Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Dave, I wouldn’t wish to ■■■■ in the same pot as that lot of J Arthur Rankers,
with the exception of the likes of Dennis Skinner and one or two more they
are all out for what they can get, corrupt the lot of them and we keep them
there, in the lap of luxury.
thanks harry, long retired.

It’s a pity there weren’t a lot more like Dennis Skinner in the house of commons. He’s for the working man, only thing is he’s about eighty, but I hope he keeps going a while longer.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
I believe Dennis has tried to retire but his constituents won’t hear of it,
he’s the salt of the earth and a proper parliamentarian.
thanks harry, long retired.

It will be a sad day when he retires Harry,he gives them some stick whoever is in power. He certainly represents his constituents well.A proper politician who hasn’t forgotten his roots.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Big talk at the moment about getting out of Europe, I’m in favour of departing
we’re the poor relation in that lot and it will get rid of those gravy train MEPs .
thanks harry, long retired.
I voted for going in when Ted Heath took us into Europe, and have regretted it ever since. If they hold another referendum I shall be voting to come out of Europe.
Cheers Dave.
Well, if we’ve degenerated into politics, I have to state that neither I, nor anyone else voted to join the European Union. What we did vote for was entry into the Common Market, an organisation which would be mutually advantageous to the European states in their dealings with each other.
There was no mention of our being governed by Strazburg or Brussels or of our laws being subject to examination by a foreign and unelected body.
The problem now is that, after all this time, we probably couldn’t afford to come out of the union, which is the precise position that our politicians intended us to be in.
At the moment, I, like many others, am right behind UKIP but how many of us maintain this position when we are told that leaving the Union will cost each of us ten or twenty quid a week remains to be seen.
