Thank you Dave & Harry, back to good news, my daughter came and de- fragtised my disk, for my laptop was getting slow & slower, this is due to pop-ups and messages you recieve building up, although you delete them, the space is took up, and not used unless you tidy up, which should be done weekly or monthly, so i set it to do it monthly. But it certainly speeds it up, the other but more drastic way is to put it back to factory settings, but you lose everything, unless you have put it on single disks. I hope this won’t confuse you Harry. :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

Hi Harry & Norm,
I defragment this pc a couple of times a week,as I live three miles from the telephone exchange my broadband signal is not very strong,also we run two computers from a router,Tracy’s laptop and my desktop,so it weakens the signal a bit.I’m like you Norm,I get a mate who is much more computer literatep than we are to tidy it all up now and again.

Chris my laptop was getting slower and slower, and my daughter said it was the disk in the computor that stores information,and you delete it, and all the pop ups that comeup, leave a space, but your computor don’t use it, so you use more & more of the disk, thus slowing it down, so you must defrag it. To make it more understandable, you being a ex-driver, a warehouse is full of racks with pallets on, some are emptied some part emptied, until the forklift driver cannot unload the lorries outside, because the racks are in a mess, so the foreman tells them to take all the pallets out and re stacks making a lot more space, that is what you do to your disk when you defrag, not bad Harry, fo a semi-skilled from the midlands, :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: and nutty to boot, :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:
