Just joined the M6 from the A14 in the 50mph roadworks section. Time was 2045 hrs, 12 June. My unit, ADR Tanker is restricted to 52mph.
Clear the roadworks and take her up to 52mph.
Slight hill, so my unit slows to 50ish. I am in lane one.
I notice a unit gaining in lane 2, they get alongside and edge forward. I am doing about 50 due to the gradient and my weight.
The other unit is about halfway past me and pulling away. I am still at about 50, not increasing, and getting slower, when the other unit pulls into lane one. They still have half a double decker trailer next to my cab.
I hit the brakes, the other unit continues across leaving me with a hard avoiding move onto the hard shoulder. A Tanker does not change course very well and i thought it was going over.
Before you say i should have backed off, i did and was slowing, he was just so impatient.
After getting my tanker back onto lane one, he continues without even a indicator flash.
I have the registration and company phone number for reference.
His mate then also pulls alongside and beeps, giving a sorry gesture to me. Fair play but not his fault.
Absolutely no need for it at all. Don’t tell tales but this was just crap impatient driving from a so called pro driver.
