Clocks goin forward

Santa:
I understood it was the Scottish kids going to school in the dark that was the problem. Never quite understood how though.

That’s probably the inbred kids of the mutton molesters who complain about it changing. I’ve never understood how they go to school either, seems like a bit of a waste of time.

what i don’t get is if its to please the sweaty sock farmers and schoolkids who think deep fried battered mars bars are healthy why do we change the clocks in not just europe but loads of other countries around the world?
summer time saving happens all over the place

Summer time all year round?

Some people advocate that summer time is kept all year round but this is opposed by other groups on the grounds that in the north this would have social disadvantages including, for instance, the problem that in the far north-west of Scotland sunrise would occur at about 10.00 in the middle of winter and over much of the north small children would have to travel to/from school in darkness.

Many countries around the world use daylight saving time, including the USA, Russia, most of Europe and the Commonwealth.

The main reasons given for the use of summer time are the saving in power given by the longer hours of daylight in the evenings and the increased useful daylight leisure time available to those who work.

So when doing a manual entry and stuff do we have to adjust for the hour, I thought UTC was one hour ahead. So before the clocks went forward the entries were OK and now if i start at 6am I have to enter 5am on the tacho?

UTC is the same as GMT so it is now one hour behind BST. When doing manual entries you still do them as UTC so yes, if you start at 06:00 BST that is 05:00 UTC.

There is really only us, Ireland, Portugal and the Canary Islands who who are aligned with UTC for part of the year, other drivers in Europe are always either 1, 2 or mor3e hours ahead.

What’s a Clock and why the hell would it need to go forward

I asked my Mother, Sister and my Auntie but she couldn’t tell me either

limeyphil:
Europe should accept Greenwich Mean Time as standard throughout the whole year. the clocks shouldn’t go forward and backward each year.
Europe should accept two things.
1, we won the war.
2, we invented time.

and gravity

So why they just don’t open schools later in winter? :unamused:

I don’t get this time change stuff…

So who used the 1 hour forward to there advantage and had a 8hr/10hr break instead of the norm 9hr/11hr eh eh?

If anyone did they’d best hope they don’t get pulled by VOSA else they could have some explaining to do

Cant see there being much explaining to do as you’d just say you left at 2am, prior to leaving wound it forward an hour, then off you went, all ■■■■■■ dorey…

Phil thats the best/easiest way
